More than great coffee at 57 Café!

Upon entering 57 Café you will find a friendly, vibrant and convivial atmosphere, smelling the tantalising aroma of the freshly brewed coffee.

Founded by the Makris family, the business was originally a single fronted shop that grew quickly and became a double fronted shop with seating for 120 including an alfresco dining area, a small function room, a restaurant with a bench table which is for the quick eaters and the hustle and bustle of the bar area including the coffee machine.

Winner of the five-star Golden Plate Award from the Monash City Council, 57 Café is open seven days and six nights a week. From Tuesday until Sunday it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner until late, while on Monday it closes at 4pm.

Over the past 15 years the Makris family of Steve, Evvie, Adam, Vas and daughter-in-law Helen have forged a strong reputation with customers and seen families grow before their eyes. Some of these toddlers are now floor staff that are employed by 57!

This shows that 57 is a family community with roots…also their long running chefs Colin and Jason.

57 is popular for the consistency and variety of food that caters for all age groups and all tastes with gluten, vegan and dairy-free meals.

The chef’s daily specials include soup, fish, meat and pasta including a selection of wines.

The extensive menu of sumptuous Australian and international cuisine includes signature dishes such as prawn linguini, barramundi and steak dishes, just to name a few.

57 also has a vast selection of large cakes and individual cakes catering for gluten and dairy-free clientele. Not forgetting sticky date pudding with vanilla ice cream and Death by Chocolate…by demand from the community!

As the customers are aware, 57’s bubbly hostess and owner Evvie Makris is also the president of the Pinewood Chamber of Commerce and she takes great pride and interest in our shopping complex.
